Decentralized Autonomous Organizations – Newsletter 1
September 22nd 2025 until October 7th 2025
Welcome to our first ever DAO newsletter! Every week there are a lot of DAO related publications. Through our newsletter, we filter the, in our opinion, most interesting market updates and scientific articles for you. Also, we will have a special interest section that will cover specific DAO news items, relevant for that period. This week's newsletter has a General Market Update, a specific DAO and AI news section and a Scientific Update. If you think this newsletter is interesting for others as well, please share it with them and us (info@howtodao.it). Enjoy!

General Market update
Tokens
In line with the true DAO spirit, t420 is planning to enable decentralized ownership in TeslaRoboTaxi’s. They are creating tokens that represent direct, fractionalized ownership where the tokenholders can vote on key decisions. https://cryptoadventure.com/t420-launches-to-decentralize-ownership-of-teslas-robotaxi-network-on-solana/
X-chain
Cross or multiple chain expansions in various DAOs as well as new listings. Helpr DAO listed on LBank Exchange, ApeDAO created the possibilities for their tokenholders to swap them cross chain (ETH, SOL HyperEVM) via OpenSea and AAVE is reported to go live on Plasma.
Token supply
Polkadot caps token supply on 2.1 billion – Polkadot DAO decided to cap the total token supply on 2.1 billion tokens. https://crypto-economy.com/the-polkadot-price-prediction-now-focuses-on-reaching-5-dot-after-the-dao-approved-a-2-1b-supply-cap/
AI x DAO
AI and blockchain, particularly DAOs and smart contracts is an ever growing news and research topic.
AI based tooling
There is a clear increase of AI based tooling that can be used withing DAOs. Examples are Oraichain, calling themselves the “DAO co-pilot”, RSS3 and Pulse. These latter focus on governance analytics and community engagement within DAOs. https://ambcrypto.com/powering-the-next-generation-of-daos-with-advanced-tooling/
Prevent bias
More often, DAOs are, although often still theoretical, foreseen to e.g. prevent bias in AI (https://cointelegraph.com/news/network-states-ai) or add a layer of governance transparency in AI enhanced Medical Record Management.
AI agent integration
A very interesting development to follow is around NEAR, who announced that they work on AI agent integration for (partial) voting on behalf of the tokenholders to fight voter fatigue. https://www.tradingview.com/news/cointelegraph:aec8132d8094b:0-near-foundation-is-working-on-an-ai-digital-twin-for-governance-votes/ . This might very well be a next step in autonomy of DAOs.
Scientific news
In the past few weeks, there were a lot of new publications related to governance (vulnerabilities) and voting mechanisms!
Hybrid voting models
Serebriakov and Klymenko published research on hybrid voting models in DAOs. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/395677873_Hybrid_Voting_Model_for_Decentralized_Autonomous_Organizations_with_Dynamic_Quorum. Ateev and Gotskaya published a conference paper on the Development of a Multilayer Consensus Model Using Game Mechanics. As with Serebriakov and Klymenko, there is a strong focus on how to prevent vulnerabilities like voter fatigue.
Systemic flaws in Governance
With regards to vulnerabilities in DAO governance, Qian published a paper on Strengthening DAO Governance: Vulnerabilities and Solutions – Investigating some systemic flaws in Governance of some of the larger DAOs and proposes some countermeasures. https://nhsjs.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Strengthening-DAO-Governance-Vulnerabilities-and-Solutions.pdf
DeFi Crime Events
Kitzler et all, published a study that looked into the Economic Impact of DeFi Crime Events on Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs), more specifically, the loss of governance token value, in various DAOs that were subject to DeFi Crime events in the period 2020-2022. https://arxiv.org/pdf/2510.00669
Decentralized Leadership
Finally, Adisa published a conference paper related to the effectiveness of Decentralized Leadership in Blockchain Startups describing a Study of European Tech Companies and concluding that, despite the benefits of a decentralized setup, hybrid leadership might be required.
